Aaargh!

BTC, ETH and SOL all take a massive nose-dive, spreading fear and panic among people who haven’t been around for long. Those of us who’ve been here for years once again rolled our eyes, shrugged, sighed heavily, and got ready for the wait until the market pops back up again.

I have no idea why it’s done this: the FTSE dipped, came back up, dipped, came back up; crypto did the same dip-and-rebound the first time, but then dipped and kept on going. Is it people cashing out and grabbing gold and silver, since they’re at ATHs? Is it the US screwing around with the GENIUS Act? Is it mogwai eating after midnight? I did read that Blackrock dumped hundreds of millions in BTC after the Fed rates decision, so maybe that scared the willies out of weak-handed people? Not a clue. \\_(ツ)_/

The bad thing about this was – as usual – my trading timing: I’d just bought some BTC and ETH with USDT in my Trading funds on trying a new approach, basing my timing on the assumption that we’d hit a bottom point. Apparently not. And those have now gone down by a significant percentage, annoying me in the process! Thankfully, the thing I’m trying out is a bit longer term – days rather than hours – and still appears viable, if I can get my head around it. I’ll cover that in detail in my mid-week post, so look out for it!

Anyway, here are this week’s (painful) numbers:

Look at that… down over $3,000 in a week. Almost as bad as when I screwed up with copy trading, though not quite!

In detail:

Trading down 16.05%

Copy Trading down 21.64%

Banking down 27.42%

Overall down 22.22%

Big ouchies all round, there.

I also heard from the friend who put $50 into copy trading with my reliable trader to test how it goes: the drop to $76,000 bankrupted that. I really don’t understand how Smart Ratio works, as my copies on the same trader (with significantly more funds) are doing fine, well within their limits. Looks to me like Smart Ratio is about as reliable as a politician or – more likely – that there’s a hidden obligatory minimum per trade that affects smaller amounts and that MEXC doesn’t talk about. Not very happy about that because it messes with any trader testing, as you can imagine. And I really don’t want to throw hundreds of dollars into testing each one so it works properly. That’s way too much risk for me. 🙁

’26 Picks

As expected, all my picks for this year have bombed alongside the BTC and ETH drop.

Except PUMP. Which is still almost 50% up. Crazy!

Tune in mid-week for a bit of a mix-up of spot trading and banking… which will hopefully turn out to be a nice little earner!

How was your week?
